Sketching Out 'Daddest Jokes' - Illustrations and Campaign Plans Underway

Hey everyone! I'm deep in the creative zone, sketching fun illustration ideas for our upcoming 'Daddest Jokes' book. It's an exciting phase where each doodle and drawing brings our jokes to life, adding that extra zing to the humor.

Alongside the illustrations, I'm also piecing together our campaign plan for 'Daddest Jokes.' It's all about ensuring that everything clicks into place perfectly when we're ready to share this book with the world. This dual focus on creating the content and planning its launch keeps me on my toes, but I love every bit of it.

Creating these illustrations is a blast – it's like each joke gets its own little visual story. And as for the campaign, I'm brainstorming some cool ideas to ensure it captures the book's fun and spirit.

I'll keep you all posted on how things are shaping up. Your enthusiasm for 'Dadder Jokes' was incredible, and I can't wait to bring you its sequel. Thanks for participating in this journey – here's to more laughs and good times with 'Daddest Jokes'!

"The Bad Guys: A Rollicking Reimagining of Classic Villains"

Aaron Blabey's "The Bad Guys" is a delightful romp that turns the traditional fairy tale on its head. This early reader chapter book is a laugh-out-loud adventure featuring an unlikely gang of 'bad' animals – a wolf, snake, piranha, and shark – who decide to become the Good Guys. Their first mission? To rescue 200 dogs from the Maximum Security City Dog Pound.

Blabey's storytelling is a masterclass in humor and wit. Traditionally seen as villains, the characters are endearing and hilarious, each with unique quirks. For instance, the wolf's criminal activities include impersonating sheep, while the piranha is known for eating tourists. These amusing rap sheets add a layer of humor that appeals to both children and adults.

As a father, I was introduced to this series by my 9-year-old daughter, and it quickly became a favorite. The book's charm lies in its ability to engage young readers with its interactive narrative style, where characters often speak directly to the reader. This approach makes the story more engaging and personal.

Blabey's background as an actor and artist is evident in his vivid illustrations and lively characters. While the book excels in visual storytelling, more experimentation with font styles could have enhanced its appeal. However, this is a minor point in an otherwise stellar book.

"The Bad Guys" also subtly addresses themes like not judging by appearances and the possibility of change, making it a meaningful read. It fits perfectly into the genre of fairy tale reimaginings, offering a fresh perspective on familiar characters.

Broadcasts and Book Drafts: Starting My Radio Show and Supporting Elizabeth's Writing

As we enter the new year, a lot is happening at work and home that I'm excited to share with you all.

Firstly, we're gearing up for a big change at my day job – I'm starting my own lunchtime radio show in February! This is a thrilling opportunity to blend my love for podcasting with radio broadcasting. I'm already brainstorming ideas for the show, aiming to create something entertaining and engaging for our listeners. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the launch date!

2024 is not just another year at the radio station; it's a political year. This means we'll be airing more political ads, a new experience for me in my first year running the station. Balancing the content and ensuring that we maintain our station's integrity and quality while navigating the complexities of political advertising will be an interesting challenge.

Progress in the Downstairs Bedroom On the home front, we've made significant progress with the downstairs bedroom renovation. It's shaping up nicely, and I look forward to seeing the final result. This project has been a blend of hard work and anticipation, and seeing it all coming together is satisfying.

Elizabeth's New Book Project: 'Wolf Memories' In more exciting news, Elizabeth has embarked on a fantastic creative journey – she's writing her book, ' Wolf Memories.' I'm incredibly proud of her initiative and creativity. Given my experience with publishing, I plan to help her navigate the process of publishing her book. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to collaborate on something she's passionate about, and I can't wait to see her ideas come to life in print.
