On Wednesday, I welcomed back with us the nationally acclaimed Cartoonist and Illustrator, Daphne Lage! She talked with us on her latest Kickstarter: Egoraven: Heir of the First Unicorn #1 - 3 & Prequel Story

Finally, on Thursday, I talked to the acclaimed Vermont Author Michael Freed Thall. He chatted about his newest historical fiction novel: Horodno Burning.

Project Updates

This week also has the beginning of October.  October is Inktober.  I am deciding to feed two birds with one scone and continue to draw pictures for my Exclamations book while using the word prompts from Inktober.

I have also added a bit more pages to my Dad Joke book.

 What I’m reading

This past week I’ve been reading a bit more ‘Powered By The Apocalypse’ games for my research on my own PBTA game.  This past week I have read the quick start rules of ‘City of Mist’. So far one of the big take away is that there are many good ways to tweak the system to make it work for a theme.

I am an immediate fan of this game.  The setting reminds me a bit of my two favorite tabletop roleplaying games: ‘Shadowrun’ and ‘Changeling: The Dreaming’.  The City of Mist combines the real world and the fantasy world.  Like other PBTA games, this one focuses on group play instead of individual storylines.

Personal Updates

So now I’m down to 207ish pounds.  203 pounds will be a significant next milestone for me.  it will be the mark of 10% of my weight starting weight lost, it will also be my lowest weight in my adult life.  But most importantly, That means that in 4 more pounds I will officially go from being obese to just overweight!

On the work side, We successfully hosted our 6th annual cerebral palsy conference virtually.   We had some amazing speakers this year and I am very hopeful for the growth of the conference.

I am very fortunate to have a job I love.  I know I have said that before, but it is still very true.
