There are many things I blame my Peace Corps experience for…
I blame it for giving me a stronger sense of community, the desire to learn about other cultures, and the ability and drive to make the world a better place for the next generation.
It wasn’t always peachy fun; watching giraffes and buying hand-woven grass mats on market days. I took solace in making comics that represented some of the more annoying and frightening moments of my “2 Years” as a volunteer.
I produced them on a semi-regular basis and distributed them to my fellow volunteers. Things have changed a lot since I was a volunteer, but despite the advent of cell phones and interenet everywhere (even in the African bush), I think some of the themes portrayed in the series are still evident even today.
